The annual meeting of the West Fargo City Board of Equalization was held Tuesday, April 13, 2021, in the Commission Chambers of West Fargo City Hall (800 Fourth Ave. E., Suite 1, West Fargo).
The City Board of Equalization meets to equalize the property tax valuations in the City and provides an opportunity for individual property owners to appear before the board regarding their property values. Those who feel that their property value is unfair may present their case to the board at this meeting.
The Assessor is tasked with the fair and equitable assessment of all property within city limits for property tax purposes, per the North Dakota State Tax Department. It is also this department’s responsibility to compile records regarding real estate transactions, new construction, remodels or alterations, as well as administer a variety of property tax exemption and credit programs instituted by the North Dakota State Legislature.

Notices of yearly residential review area have been distributed to properties in this year’s review. This review is necessary to ensure accurate information is used to set appropriate property values throughout the city.
